Amino Acids -
Current Status & Outlook
There are over 20 naturally occurring amino acids. In recent years
microbiological and enzymatic production processes have been developed for
a wide range of amino acids, used in animal feeds, foods.
We have defined as bulk amino acids products with an annual output close to or
in excess of 1,000 ton. In this survey we reviewed the following products:
- lysine
- methionine
- threonine
- tryptophan
- aspartic acid
- l-phenylalanine
For each amino acid we have discussed its production process,
applications, producers, output, prices and growth prospects by 2015.
