Feed Amino Acids - Processes, Producers, Output & Outlook by 2015

Four amino acids have extensive applications in animal feeds [especially pigs and poultry], namely:

  • lysine
  • methionine
  • threonine
  • tryptophan
Three of these amino acids are derived by fermentation [lysine, threonine, tryptophan] whilst methionine is produced synthetically.

In this survey we review the production process, output, capacity, producers, price trends and outlook for each product.
