FI Europe November 2011 in Paris, France featured a vast range of food ingredients and dietary supplements from everywhere especially China. Nevertheless Western companies are increasingly wary of low-cost Chinese products because of the variable quality and the trend for E.U. and U.S. trade authorities to levy high import duties on these products to counter their dumping prices. The bottom line is that the price of home-made European ingredients is similar to imported Chinese products. ‘West is Best’.
